Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty Launches Architectural Division

Jan Horn

Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty, one of San Diego’s fastest-growing luxury real estate companies, is pleased to announce the formation of their new Architectural Division. Architecture expert Jan Eric Horn will serve as the Executive Director of the division, which will focus on representing both historical and contemporary architect-designed properties. The Architectural Division at Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty will offer clients the distinctive representation and specialized marketing strategies needed to effectively sell these unique homes.

“With the multitude of architecturally significant properties in San Diego we see tremendous opportunity and benefit to our clients in offering them specialized representation for these listings,” says Steve Games, Chairman, Pacific Sotheby’s Realty. “Jan has the proven leadership and experience to successfully build this division to become the leading resource for Architectural properties in our market.”

For the past 30 years Jan Horn has specialized in the sale of architect-designed houses. He believes that these homes are worth substantially more than their counterparts and therefore require a special approach to marketing that goes far beyond the norm. Prior to joining Pacific Sotheby’s Realty, Horn was the Founder and Director of the Architectural Division of Coldwell Banker in Los Angeles. There he developed certification and training programs specific to marketing architecturally significant homes and successfully led a team of top-producing realtors.

“Our Architectural Division enables us to raise the bar on the marketing of architectural houses and utilize the connections we have cultivated in the architecture community,” says Horn. “Our focus going forward is to provide our clients with a significant advantage in the representation of their unique architectural homes. Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty honors Architecture as Art and our Architectural Division is its platform for the future.”

Horn remains extremely involved in the architecture community throughout Southern California and has been featured as a guest speaker at the Museum of Architecture, the Museum of Modern Art in La Jolla, the Prada Museum and the New School of Architecture in San Diego.  Additionally, he has been featured in several prominent magazines including Dwell, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Robb Report, Who’s Who In America, Coast Magazine, San Diego Business Journal, Los Angeles Business Journal, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, and the Los Angeles Times. Horn has lectured at the UCLA Ophir School on Architecture and Sustainable Design and has written several monographs including “Your Architectural House is Worth More” and “Smart Houses”.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Museum of Architecture and Design.
