Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty, one of the largest Sotheby’s International Realty franchises in the brand’s global network, announces the strategic appointment of Victoria Boynton as General Counsel for the San Diego region. In this role, she will work alongside Jim Stein, the company’s General Counsel in the Orange County and Desert markets, to advise the senior leadership team on corporate strategy and manage all compliance, litigation and transaction oversight.
“Victoria comes to us with an esteemed background in real estate and business law and is highly respected in our industry,” says Brian Arrington, CEO, Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty. “Her broad legal and business expertise combined with her leadership style fits our new executive leadership team. Her passion for educating, mentoring, and guiding real estate agents will add significant value to our company.”
Boynton has extensive experience in both residential and commercial real estate law. Her practice has spanned complex litigation, transactional, human resources, technology, and marketing issues in a range of settings throughout Southern California. She also taught classes on contracts, risk management, and real estate transactional issues.
Before joining Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty, Boynton was of counsel with the firm of Larson & Solecki LLP, a real estate and business law firm whose clients include real estate and related companies, business owners, real estate brokers, agents and large companies involved in litigation.
Additionally, she served as corporate counsel for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, where she represented the company and its 3,000+ real estate agents along with its affiliates, including escrow, title, lending, and insurance.
Boynton served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney prosecuting high-level drug cases and defending the government on civil tort claims. She held a variety of positions as in house counsel for large corporations where she handled intellectual property, licensing, commercial leasing and sales, and contract matters.
“Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty’s new leadership is committed to a culture of respect and camaraderie,” says Boynton. “I am excited to be a part of this professional team.”
Boynton received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and her J.D. from California Western School of Law. She completed mediation training with the San Diego Association of Realtors, American Arbitration Association, and the California Association of Realtors.
In her spare time, she is a volunteer puppy raiser and public speaker for Canine Companions for Independence, a community service she has enjoyed for 20 years. She has trained more than 17 CCI puppies to prepare them for future “careers” as service dogs to the disabled and others.
