On March 20, 2019, Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty Manager Dana Whittaker and San Diego Funding Senior Loan Officer Keith Tong co-hosted a fundraising event at SoCal Axe Throwing in San Marcos, California to raise money for Pacific Sotheby’s Realty’s Agents of Change program.
At the beginning of March 2019, Dana Whittaker, Office Manager for Pacific Sotheby’s Realty’s Carlsbad and San Elijo offices challenged her agents, many of whom already donate a percentage of their commissions to the program on a regular basis, to get creative and “Go Big” by hosting events, fundraising activities and online donation drives to raise money to completely fund the building of a new home for a family in Tijuana. The Team Challenge runs until April 13, 2019, when the members of the offices head down to Tijuana to physically help build the home they have funded for a deserving family.
Whittaker believes that one of the most important things we can do as entrepreneurs, real estate agents and members of a community is to give back to those in need. “As Realtors we engage with the top of the real estate pyramid. As Agents of Change, we can transform the lives of families living in extreme poverty at the bottom of that pyramid. It is an amazing experience that connects us all.”
ABOUT AGENTS OF CHANGE | In March of 2017, Pacific Sotheby’s Realty created the Agents of Change program in partnership with World Housing. Since then Pacific Sotheby’s Realty, their agents, affiliates, family, and friends have continued to transform the lives of families living in absolute poverty through the gift of safe and secure housing. To date, Pacific Sotheby’s Realty has raised $275,000 and officially funded homes for 44 families! Thanks to the success of the Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty’s Agents of Change initiative, World Housing has launched the program globally to all 950 offices in the Sotheby’s International Realty network.
