Mother’s Day Is This Sunday – May 13th!

This Sunday is Mother’s Day. If we had to guess, there may be a few of you out there still searching for the perfect gift for your mother or spouse. While candy and flowers are always appreciated, this year might be the time to think “outside the box.” Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty has done a little research and asked a variety of special moms, all with different interests, what they would like to wake up to this Sunday. So for those of you planning a trip to the mall this week, here are some great Mother’s Day ideas from moms themselves!

For those moms who seek adventure, won’t bat an eye at a challenge and always spontaneous not to mention curious, consider these creative gifts.

La Jolla Sea Caves Kayak Adventure. Who wouldn’t want to spend a few hours kayaking the crystal blue waters of La Jolla, spotting marine life with an expert naturalist as your tour guide. A gift the whole family can enjoy and experience together.

La Jolla Zip Zoom offers what may be considered California’s longest zip line. Coast through 1.25 miles of incredible mountains, canyons, valleys and the San Luis Rey River of speeds up to 50 miles an hour. Located northeast of San Diego at the popular La Jolla Indian Reservation.

Exodus Escape Room.  Located in Anaheim Hills, is the extremely “extreme” nationwide phenomenon. If your mother or spouse enjoys puzzles or playing sudoku, here is a real life adventure game where you are locked in a room, along with your guests, and have 60 minutes to work together to crack codes and solve ciphers to escape.

Swing It Trapeze. If your mother or significant other often feels like she is running a three ring circus at home, give her the ideal gift! Mom will learn to fly a trapeze from professionals! Located in downtown Anaheim.

Palm Springs Biplanes. Take a one of a kind flying adventure in the open cockpit of a Stearman biplane.  A wonderful and unique way to see the Palm Springs desert and surrounding area.

Our Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty agents who happen to be mothers are all extremely innovative with many special talents and hobbies. We suggest these incredible gifts for a Mother’s Day to remember.

Whaley Studios in San Diego offers workshops to create your own personalized works of jewelry art as well as bringing in artists from across the country to teach a variety of specialized classes.

A Time To Dance. Who says dance lessons are only for kids?  Located in San Diego’s North Park, this sought after dance company offers a variety of classes, from Salsa, Urban Hip Hop and even Belly Dancing!

The Pastry School. Is your mother or wife an amazing baker?  Does she put other parents baked sale goods to shame with her beautifully prepared treats?  Well then, what about a pastry class taught by a French professional? Orange County’s M.O.F. Chef, Stephanie Trehand has a menu of amazing classes for those who want to take their desserts to the next level.  From French eclairs, petits fours, macarons,  even how to make artistic sugar showpieces, it’s all here.

Old Town Artisan Studios.  Discover pottery classes in Palm Springs for beginners or advanced.  Practice wheel throwing and glazing techniques, sculpting and so much more. What a gift to give to any mother who wants to expand her artistic side.

Finally, all the mothers who assisted us with our very unofficial poll, insisted that you can never go wrong with traditional gifts, such as brunch, spa packages, gift certificates to their favorite boutique or simply spending time together with a picnic or a day at the beach.  As Robert Browning said: “Motherhood. All love begins and ends there.” Or, as Tina Fey remarked, “Being a mom has made me so tired. And so happy.”

On behalf of Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty, a very Happy Mother’s Day to all.
