On July 20, 2017, Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty Agents Caroline Glasner and Susan Diamond held a special architecture series exploring the history of Polynesian architecture and Tiki culture in Point Loma, San Diego and Southern California. The event, which was held at the historic Bali Hai Restaurant on Shelter Island, featured a presentation by Architectural Historian Diane Kane.  Guests viewed the presentation (and perhaps enjoyed one or two of the Bali Hai’s world famous Mai Tai’s) from the main floor of the historic Bali Hai bar overlooking San Diego Bay. The slide show focused on the numerous restaurants, hotels, commercial buildings and communities that embrace this Polynesian Pop style throughout San Diego and Southern California.
