Life At The Top: Pacific Sotheby’s Realty Agents Climb Mt. Whitney

Endresen Climb

“Nothing can top the highest mountain in the 48 contiguous states and no other brokerage can top this! It’s all downhill from here!” Pacific Sotheby’s Realty agents Bjorn Endresen and Pauline Lim-Endresen at the top of Mount Whitney.

Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty agents Bjorn Endresen and Pauline Lim-Endresen scaled Mount Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous 48 states at 14,505 feet. To commemorate their remarkable accomplishment, Bjorn and Pauline brought a Sotheby’s International Realty flag with them for their photo at the top.

After hiking regularly for three and a half years, Bjorn and Pauline felt as if they had tackled all of the notable peaks and trails within and adjacent to San Diego County, including Cowles Mountain, Iron Mountain, Mount Woodson, The Fortunas, El Capitan and El Cajon peaks, Garnet Peak, Stonewall and Cuyamaca Peak, Mount Palomar and Mount San Jacinto. Bjorn and Pauline, in searching for new challenges, set their sites on Mount Whitney “for the adventure of being in the great outdoors.”

““We thought what a thrill and a challenge it will be to reach for the top and take-on the highest peak in the U.S.” says Pauline.

“We are lucky,” added Bjorn. “California offers such diverse terrain for hiking and for us, the ultimate challenge was less than a day’s drive from home.”

The hike lasted a total of 4 days and measured approximately 40 miles, which includes both the distance traveled in the ascent and descent. With such a long trek comes requisite aches and pains but Pauline says they were fortunate not to come away with any blisters or significant altitude sickness. “We were so grateful nature was kind to us,” she says. “The weather could not have been better. Cool, crisp sunny days and moonlit nights.”

Though they have not decided on their next mountain to tackle, they plan on making plans for 2016 soon, as they both learned their bodies can handle way more, go much further, and handle more stress than they thought they could. “We recovered completely after a long sleep that night—so much so that we thought we could actually do it again,” said Pauline.

Bjorn adds, “Nothing can top the highest mountain in the 48 contiguous states and no other brokerage can top this! It’s all downhill from here!”
